Question: How warm does Lake Caldaro get and when can you start swimming?
Answer: Lake Caldaro is the warmest swimming lake in the Alps. It often reaches pleasant temperatures as early as May, and in high summer (July/August) the water warms up to 28 °C. Swimming is usually wonderful from May well into September.
Question: Does Hotel Seegarten have private lake access or its own beach?
Answer: Yes, as a guest at Hotel Seegarten, you enjoy direct access to the lake – perfect for diving straight into the warmest Alpine lake. The beach is free of charge for guests of Garni Seeberg; all other visitors pay an admission fee.
Question: What is there to do at Lake Caldaro and in Caldaro?
Answer: The region around Lake Caldaro is ideal for hiking (e.g., through the Rastenbachklamm gorge), cycling, and water sports such as stand-up paddling, windsurfing, or pedal boating. Additionally, the wine village of Caldaro invites you to wine tastings and culinary journeys of discovery.
Question: Does Hotel Seegarten offer bike rentals or space for guests' own bikes?
Answer: Yes, we provide our guests with a lockable bike storage room for their own bicycles. Hotel Seegarten also collaborates with a local bike rental service, which delivers and picks up the rented bikes for a fee.
Question: Do I need a car at Lake Caldaro or is there public transport?
Answer: A car is not strictly necessary. The wine village of Caldaro and the provincial capital of Bolzano are excellently connected by buses. Furthermore, our guests receive the Mobilcard, which allows free use of all public transport throughout South Tyrol.
Question: Are there parking spaces and charging stations for e-cars at Hotel Seegarten?
Answer: Yes, free parking spaces are available for your car directly at Hotel Seegarten. You can also charge your electric vehicle near the hotel.
Question: Is it possible to have dinner directly at Lake Caldaro at Hotel Seegarten (which belongs to Garni Seeberg), or is there a restaurant?
Answer: Yes, our lakeside restaurant pampers you with a blend of Alpine South Tyrolean cuisine and Mediterranean influences. Enjoy the evening menu as part of your half-board arrangement or fine à-la-carte dishes on our lake terrace overlooking the water.
Question: Does Hotel Seegarten also offer vegetarian or gluten-free options?
Answer: Absolutely. We place great importance on our guests' individual wishes. You will always find vegetarian alternatives on our breakfast buffet and in our dinner menus. Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any intolerances, such as gluten or lactose.
Question: Are dogs or pets allowed at Garni Seeberg by Lake Caldaro?
Answer: Yes, well-behaved dogs are warmly welcome with prior notice. We charge a fee of €22.00 per day. Please note that dogs are not permitted in the restaurant or on the sunbathing lawn.
Question: Do all rooms at Hotel Seegarten have a view of Lake Caldaro?
Answer: Yes, all of our rooms and suites offer a fantastic, direct view of Lake Caldaro.
Question: What time is check-in and by when must check-out be completed?
Answer: Your room will be available from 3:00 PM at the latest on your day of arrival. On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to vacate your room by 11:00 AM. If you wish to arrive earlier or depart later, simply let us know – we will gladly check availability for a late check-out.
